西貢有遊艇發生氧氣樽爆炸意外。一名船主在為潛水用氧氣樽加氣期間突發生爆炸，他首當其衝，眉骨及雙腳被炸傷，血流披面送院。警方列「有人意外受傷」處理，正調查原因。 傷者姓張(57歲)，是一艘中式遊艇的船主，現場為西貢海傍街碼頭對開海面船隻拋錨區。事發昨午2時57分，上址海面一艘遊艇突傳出猛烈爆炸巨響，一陣濃煙冒上半空，有船家見狀立即報警。水警及消防迅即到場，證實肇事遊艇確曾發生爆炸，但無煙火，船上有一名頭部受傷血流披面，以及雙腳小腿均受傷男子，他仍然清醒，隨後送上岸轉由救護車直送往伊利沙伯醫院救治。消防員調查後相信有人在為潛水用氧氣樽加氣，不料期間意外發生爆炸。

西貢鹽田梓村 地處牛尾海滘西洲北面，百多年前是海鹽產地，今天鹽田荒廢多時，村內只剩一兩戶人家，隨著鹽田梓村落實復修工程，港人將可在今年九月重訪傳統的鹽田，一嚐赤腳製鹽的儉樸生活。         鹽田梓村於百多年前以傳統方法製鹽，盛極一時，惜這傳統工業早已式微，但在各方努力下，復修鹽田梓村的首期計劃正式落實，耗資約五百萬元，面積約三萬平方呎，佔整個活化工程面積的三分一，料今年九月竣工。         鹽田梓村村務委員表示，復修工作完成後，會交由鹽光保育中心負責營運。該中心主席陳子良指，將復修八個鹽池；而製鹽過程需時二十多天，為令日後來訪市民感受各個製鹽程序，每個鹽池會代表不同製鹽階段，務求令到市民體驗整個製鹽的過程。陳子良表示，日後製鹽活動將會收費，但目前未有確實定案。         九月竣工 每日接待300人         鹽田梓村務委員會指，盼隨鹽田修復，令市民進一步認識該村；但委員會擔心，鹽田荒廢多年，土質或已改變，未必能可再次產鹽，會就此先作研究。首期工程料九月完工，每日可接待最多三百名遊客。昨天的復修動土禮，由政務司司長林鄭月娥、天主教香港教區副主教陳志明等主持。         位於西貢內海的鹽田梓村，風景怡人，每逢假日吸引不少港人乘船登村遊覽。鹽田梓村之名由來，源於村民利用土地產鹽；他們主要運用水流，潮漲時海水經水閘入內，多餘水份靠另一水閘排流，經過日曬，產生大量海鹽。一座建於十九世紀的聖若瑟堂，是該村標記之一。 Restoration of Yim Tin Tsai Village Yim Tin Tsai is a Hakka village, located in the north of Kau Sai Chau in the Port Shelter, Sai Kung. 2011年香港有941,312名65歲及以上長者，佔全港人口13.3％。長者數目在過去50年，即1961年至2011年間，平均每年增長4.8％，同期全港人口的平均每年增長率1.6％。18個區議會分區當中，在觀塘居住的長者數目最多，佔長者總人數的10.8％。   政府統計處2月18日出版的《香港2011年人口普查主題性報告：長者》指出，東區及葵青的長者人數佔第二及第三位，達9.8％及8％。按長者與各區人口總數的比例而言，黃大仙為17.6％，在眾區議會分區中排列首位，其次是17％的深水及16.3％的觀塘，西貢為9％排列最後。   在2011年的長者當中，65至69歲的人數佔24.9％，70至79歲的佔46.3％，80歲及以上佔28.8％。過去10年，80歲及以上的年老長者所佔的比例不斷上升，在2001年的長者當中，80歲及以上的人士只佔19.6％。   在2011年，91.4％的長者居於家庭住戶，其中包括12.7％的長者獨自居住，23.6％只與配偶同住，29.7％與配偶及子女同住及21.4％只與子女同住。在2001年，與子女同住的長者所佔的比例為56.8％，這比例在2011年降至51.2％。      在居於家庭住戶的長者中，居於公營租住房屋、資助自置居所房屋及私人永久性房屋所佔的比例為38.6％、17.6％及42.8％。大部分居於私人永久性房屋的長者是居於自置居所，其中71.2％的居所是沒有按揭或貸款的，14％的居所是有按揭或貸款。     《香港2011年人口普查主題性報告：長者》可於統計處 網頁 下載。

Town planners yesterday approved the rezoning of two Sai Kung sites in the government's land sale programme despite objections from a local church. The land, located near the Sai Kung town centre, is to be converted from community use to housing. Both sites combined are expected to yield almost 380 public flats. The sites are among 36 government, institution or community (GIC) zones across different districts that the administration of Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying has identified as suitable for turning into housing. Residents argue the land should be kept for developing community facilities. In the case of Sai Kung, the Town Planning Board has received 42 objections from members of the Resurrection Church in Pak Sha Wan , and from the church itself. They said the church had made nine unsuccessful attempts since 2003 to obtain a piece of land in Sai Kung so as to build a permanent centre to better engage locals. On 25 Dec 2011, Hong Kong police disposed of a mortor bomb of  45cm long in  Port Shelter Firing Range , Sai Kung.  3 days ago, HKP had disposed of a suspected World War II bomb Thursday after it was found near a popular hiking trail days ahead of the 70th anniversary of the fall of the city to the Japanese. A spokeswoman said the bomb was found Wednesday near the Wilson Trail between Stanley and Repulse Bay on the south of Hong Kong island, where allied forces fought the Japanese in the Battle of Hong Kong. "Based on our initial investigations, it's a bomb but we can't confirm if it's from the World War II era," she told AFP, adding it had been "disposed of". Allied forces defending the former British colony surrendered to the Japanese on Christmas Day, 1941 after more than two weeks of fierce fighting. -AFP/ac

As said by the general manager who has been working for 38 years, the banquet bookings can last for several months in the peak seasons.
